Beating the Tide 150 Years of Thames Rowing Club

From June 2010

This exhibition celebrates the proud heritage of one of the oldest clubs on the Tideway.  Founded as a recreational club in 1860, Thames crews have a record of success at Henley, national, international and Olympic events.  They have nurtured great oarsmen and coaches whose influence has developed the whole sport of rowing.  The club was a pioneer of women's rowing, and is now an established centre of excellence for oarswomen.
