Schwarzenbach International Rowing Gallery

Historic racing boats, including the first ever 'Boat Race' winner from 1829, suspended from the ceiling of the Schwarzenbach International Rowing Gallery

As you enter the Schwarzenbach International Rowing Gallery you'll see a striking contemporary painting by the entrance. This was painted by Chris Gollon and commissioned by the River & Rowing Museum in 2008. The image shows a defeated crew at Henley Royal Regatta. Once in the gallery, you'll see the story of international rowing in a truly dynamic way, allowing you to experience the sport and understand what it's like to compete on the water.

Film Footage, Unique objects and Interactive Exhibits

Rowing is one of the world's oldest sports and the gallery tells its fascinating story in great detail. On display are hundreds of objects never before shown to the public, lots of thrilling footage showing great races and a wonderful range of interactive exhibits providing something for all the family.
