Front of House Supervisor - part time
£8.59 per hour (£11.46 per hour for Bank Holiday days)
The Museum is seeking to recruit an additional part time
supervisor to join our front of house visitor services team who are
responsible for the shop, admissions desk and galleries. The Front
of House Supervisor reports on a daily basis to the Duty Manager
and is a key part of the emergency evacuation procedure.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the front of house team on a daily basis and must have previous experience of managing staff in a customer facing business. They must be flexible and have a good level of IT and cash handling experience.
The successful applicant will be joining an existing team and regular weekday rota and will need to be able to work Tuesday afternoons and all day Wednesday each week, approx 12 hrs pw depending on time of year. They will also be expected to cover one weekend day per month, which is agreed in advance on a rota system, and to be available to cover extra shifts both during the week and at weekends to cover holiday and sickness as required.
An interest in the work and aims of the Museum would be an advantage.

Visitor Assistants - from £6.20 ph
Part time Visitor Assistants to join our front of house visitor services team both on a permanent basis and on a temporary basis over the busy summer period. Visitor Assistants work in the shop, admissions desk and galleries. The successful applicants must be personable, enjoy working directly with the public and be able to work flexibly, including regular weekends, (a minimum of 3 shifts/12 hours per week). You must have cash handling experience and be computer literate. An interest in the work of the Museum and previous similar experience in a visitor attraction would be an advantage.
Secretary/Audio Typist - £8.59 ph
An experienced secretary/audio typist to work directly for the Chief Executive for 15 hours pw. Days and hours wored are flexible and will be agreed with the successful applicant. You must have excellent computer skills, previous experience in a busy office, be confident working at this level and dealing with confidential correspondence.
