What is available?

Clubs and schools can choose from Museum workshops of varying lengths (see below). Each workshop can be booked on an individual basis, or as combination to fit into a full day visit.

Rowing Roots (1 hour)

An introduction to rowing history for those new to or interested in their sport. Get creative by making a short film after exploring the rowing gallery.

Designed for Speed (1 hour)

Investigate how the watermen's wherry has developed into the modern racing shell. Discover how the rower's quest for speed has influenced boat design and learn how that effects the way we row today.

Rowing to Win (1 hour)

What does it take to become an Olympic rower? Compare experiences from 1908, 1948 and 2012 and test whether you have what it takes to be the next champion rower!

The Camera Never Lies (2.5 hours)

Take a fresh look at the past; use augmented reality to see the Henley Royal Regattas of yesteryear in a new way.

Share the Story (2 hours)

Become an investigative journalist; seek out the stories that others have missed, to recount in modern formats. Contribute to the Knowing Rowing blog.
