Overseas Crew Reception
06 October 2008 21:06
The River & Rowing Museum welcomed 150 rowers from as far away as South Africa and Canada to its Overseas Crews Reception on Monday night (30 June).
Amongst them were crews from the Tigre Boat Club of Argentina - the first time the country has been represented at Henley Royal Regatta since 1939 - and Stellenbosch University of South Africa who are competing at Henley for the first time. America was well-represented with crews from the University of Southern California and Trinity Hertford Connecticut.
Chief Executive of the River & Rowing Museum Paul Mainds opened proceedings with a short speech, and the Steward in Charge of Regatta Entries, William Hammond, gave the welcome speech.
All competitors have FREE entry to the Museum if they show their competitor's badge during the Regatta. ARA members get in for half price and tickets give UNLIMITED entry for 12 months.
