Volunteering

The Museum is supported by a large number of volunteers who assist in many areas, particularly behind the scenes. Roles range from supporting the Collections Manager and curatorial team with research, cataloguing of objects and preparation of exhibitions to assisting with mail shots and evaluation.

If you have a few hours once a month or half a day every week, there may be a role at the Museum to suit you.

Volunteers also support the Education Department. As the department continues to grow we welcome more volunteers who enjoy working with children to add to the team.

Education volunteer’s work alongside a Museum tutor during school visits and are usually responsible for a small group of children. As the Museum offers a range of courses across the age range, the role of the volunteer will change with each course.

For further information and an informal chat please contact the Collections Manager on 01491 415643 or Contact Us.
