In 1818 six gentlemen climbed into a boat called ‘The Leander’, the rest is history!
Leander Club began 200 years ago at a boatbuilder’s yard opposite the Houses of Parliament. Now idyllically located by Henley Bridge, the club boasts an impressive 124 Olympic and 3 Paralympic medals. This exhibition examines Leander’s rich history and the performance athletes who have made this the most successful rowing club in the world.
