You’ll go wild for the half term activities lined up at the River & Rowing Museum

This February half term, the Museum’s imaginatively themed workshops will unleash your children’s creativity, from ‘Vole in a Hole’, for 4-7 year olds, ‘Wild Printing’ for 7-11 year olds, to ‘Wild at Heart!’ for 12-16 year olds. Your children will be inspired, engaged and delighted. Family Fun Day, ‘Glorious Greeks’, will take you all on a journey through history, celebrating the birthplace of the Olympics. Discover fantastical beasts and stories of courage in the Greek myths and let your imagination go wild! Get creative in the interactive family zone, Discover! and explore the enchanting 3D ‘Wind in the Willows’ Exhibition – a real family favourite.

Glorious Greeks

Thurs 20 February
10.30am – 4pm
Celebrate the ancient Greeks, birthplace of the Olympics! Discover fantastical beasts and stories of courage in the Greek myths and get creative on a Greek theme. Make paper pottery and a victor’s wreath and explore the origins of the zodiac. Experiment like Archimedes and find the Greeks in the galleries with our special trail. Will you turn your friends to stone like Medusa?

Vole in a Hole

One minute it’s there the next it’s gone! Make a fabric screen for your puppet vole to poke in and out.

Wild Printing

Create bold and colourful collagraph prints full of texture inspired the natural world.

Wild at Heart!

Decorate a heart shaped box and make a unique fold-out book inspired by nature and Gertrude Hermes’s distinctive black and white prints.
