Upon The Elysian Stream: 150 Years of Magdalen College Boat Club, Oxford
Among the Colleges of Oxford and Cambridge, Magdalen College Boat Club has a distinguished history that bears comparison with the best of British rowing. Founded in 1858, quite later by Oxford standards, it quickly made its mark locally and on the wider rowing scene. Mark Blandford-Baker’s carefully researched book tells the life of the College and on developments in the sport. Many of Magdalen’s famous oarsmen were movers and shakers at Henley, in the Amateur Rowing Association and within Oxford; their story is to be found here.
