The 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta

Andrew Guerin and Bruce Coe* will be talking about the 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta, including how it came about, the nature of the regatta highlighting the races established for servicemen such as the King’s Cup and the Leander Cup, key individuals in those races and the story of the Australian rowers’ two-year ‘battle’ to extract the King’s Cup from the newly-formed Australian War Museum to become the principal trophy in Australian rowing.

*Andrew Guerin, Australian rowing historian and author of the Australian Rowing History website. Bruce Coe is an Australian sports historian with special interests in the Olympic Games, sport and war.
